bombings

http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/08/26/hyderabad.bombs/index.html

The above article talks about two bombings that occurred in the Indian metropolitan city of Hyderabad. The city was struck by two massive bombs on the morning of the 26th of August at sometime around 7.30 pm IST. One of the bombs exploded in an amphitheatre and killed 8 people while the other exploded near a snack shop killing 37 people. It was latter announced that more than 15 other bombs had been diffused by the bomb squad. So only god knows what would have happened if all the bombs had exploded.
In the aftermath of the disaster, the authorities immediately put the blame on Islamic militants and terrorists from Pakistan. Of late India has been struck by a lot of terrorist attacks. A recent research has shown that India has suffered the greatest number of casualties from terrorist attacks second only to Iraq. I just can’t figure out what India has done in order to deserve these kinds of terrorist acts against it. India has always been a country that has preached peace and supported religious harmony and yet we are the target of such radical terrorist attacks.
The authorities have almost always pointed that Islamic terrorists are responsible and because of this most of the Hindus in India have the wrong perception that most Muslims are terrorists.
It is almost certainly the work of terrorists. But why do they do so? That is the big question that is to be asked. There are many theories that have been put forward as to why terrorist groups or individuals commit such acts of violence. Some say that they do so to instill fear into the people in order to cause problems in the society and to ultimately lose trust in their respective governments. Others say that terrorists do so just to kill.
But I still don’t understand why they should attack a country like India which preaches peace. True, Pakistani militants do hold a grudge against India, for they feel that the state of Kashmir should have been theirs. I feel that this could be the primary reason why terrorists commit such acts- revenge with a reason. To them their aim and purpose may be the only thing in their lives. It seems so unreasonable to us, but to them it may seem perfectly reasonable.
